This is me and my family standing on the Arctic Ocean! The ocean was frozen before I came to Barrow on January 7th. Did you know that instead of the ice melting it moves away from the shore and back to the shore?
It is really cold here. -11 today!!!! So far i think Barrow is alright! You might think i am CRAZY because I'm liking the cold. Well, that's only sometimes. But if I stay outside too long I might get frostbite and turn into an ice cube. So, instead of putting on a swimsuit, I wear a parka and thermals. Some kids just wear hoodies. They are probably used to the cold and my mom says it is the food they eat. If you eat whale, walrus and seal the blubber gives you the right nutrients to stay warm.
When I first saw our apartment, it gave me the creeps. But now that we have furniture in it, it feels like we have remodeled our old house. Except for our dinner table. It is an end table, because we are still looking for a REAL dinner table.
Barrow is awesome!
